As founder and principal attorney of the Law Offices of Lamar C. Brown, Lamar brings a wealth of public and private sector experiences to better serve his clients. Lamar is known for his gritty and tenacious approach to various challenges he encounters and brings that attitude to each of his client engagements. As a certified mediator, Lamar provides counsel to each client and can guide them through means of alternative dispute resolution. 

Lamar earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law (previously The John Marshall Law School) where he was a member of the nationally-ranked Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Council and competed in national competitions including the American Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Advocacy Competition and the National Black Law Students’ Association’s Constance Baker Motley Advocacy Competition where he finished as a semi-finalist. Lamar also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable John Robert Blakey of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While attending law school, Lamar led intergovernmental affairs for a City of Chicago agency and regularly volunteered for political campaigns and area nonprofits. Lamar attended Grand Valley State University where he earned a B.S. in Public and Nonprofit Administration. 

A passionate community leader and public servant, Lamar serves on boards including the Cabrini Green Legal Aid and as gubernatorial appointee to the Illinois Military Economic Development Committee. He hopes to marry his love for his community and the law to help create a better city and state for everyone.
